In order to get your TSLI badge, you need to pass some assessments. The TSLI assessment is done as part of the course and usually takes place around 6 months after the start of your course. For example, if you start your course in September, you can expect the TSLI assessment to take place in February. 

The TSLI assessment is comprised of three parts:

1. Preparation document (written) 
2. Practical interpreting exam (live or filmed)
3. Reflecting on your work (written)

Only when all three parts of the assessment have been successfully completed will you be able to register as TSLI with NRCPD.
