We are pleased to report on our most recent pass rates for the Signature Level 6 Diploma in Sign Language Interpreting and Translation qualification for the 2022/23 academic year.
Overall, we achieved a 92% first time pass rate across all of our interpreting courses and a total of 40 students. Almost 60% of students achieved a Merit or Distinction grade.
Our overall first time pass rate in 2021 was 90% and in 2022 it was 93%. We are delighted to have maintained an exceptionally high first time pass rate of over 90% for 3 years in a row.
We are particularly pleased to report a 90% first time pass rate, including 60% Merits and Distinctions, for the inaugural cohort of the Interpreter Development Programme for Heritage Signers. 100% of IDPHS students achieved a Merit or Distinction grade after their second attempt. This is an unprecedented achievement for this cohort, some of whom started the course without any formal BSL qualifications at all.
*Overall first time pass rate is calculated by dividing the number of passed assessments by the total number of assessments attempted, e.g. 6 assessments per student x 10 students = 60 assessments attempted in total. 56 assessments passed first time / 60 assessments attempted = 93%.
